Landlords need a current gas safety record and must provide it to tenants within the required timescales.
Annual check overdue
The property may pass the twelve-month point without a current record for the relevant appliances and flues.
No current tenant copy
Existing or incoming tenants cannot receive the latest record until the inspection has been completed.
Gaps in the record history
Missing or delayed records make it harder to keep a complete two-year history of completed gas safety checks.
Existing tenants receive the completed record within 28 days. New tenants receive the current record before moving in, and landlords retain each record for at least two years.
